Chasing Dreams: From Baseball to Business with Beau
In this episode of The Deal Podcast, Beau, founder of Beacon Realty, shares his journey from chasing dreams of Major League Baseball to building a business rooted in legacy and purpose.
Beau opens up about how the drive and discipline from athletics translated into entrepreneurship and how a small gesture from a family member (his grandfather’s old business card) became the daily reminder that sparked his own company.
From honoring his grandfather’s legacy with Beacon Realty’s logo to navigating the highs and lows of running a business, Beau’s story reminds us that pivoting from one dream doesn’t mean failure—it can mean finding your true calling.

Beau: I had two dreams growing up. I had, I wanted to be a major League baseball player and I wanted to own my own business. And back to my parents, they knew that I wanted to be a Major League baseball player. They would do anything they could to help me. Get hit my goals.
And so the Major League baseball thing didn't work out. I am still a baseball fan. We go to a major league baseball stadium at least once a year. But I ended up having an opportunity to start my own business and jumped on it and haven't looked back since. One big motivator for me is I had a grandfather that had his own business and he had a marine wire line, oil and gas business.
And, he I was fortunate enough to have a relationship with him. I'm the oldest grandson, the oldest son, and he was still around. And I remember his positive attitude and his enthusiasm and his love of life. And I, one, my, one of my aunts gave me his card and I always had his card on my desk and I'd look at it every day and remember that, Hey, look, if he did it, I can do it too.
And so I did it. I started Beacon Realty. I modeled my my logo after his logo and I still have his card in my office today.
