Aaron Travasos, P.E., is a Principal and Lead Mechanical Engineer at Gregory Consulting and Controls, a Lafayette, Louisiana engineering firm providing instrumentation and controls, mechanical, and process engineering, design, project management, and automation for oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and other industrial clients.
A Youngsville native, Aaron earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Southern California. He built his career in upstream and midstream facilities design, with work spanning Gulf of Mexico shelf and deepwater topsides, compressor installations, separator and pump design, piping systems, midstream oil storage terminals, and greenfield land-based facilities. During the COVID-era slowdown he left employment to join Gregory Consulting and Controls as a partner, and today serves as the firm's technical lead while his partner drives the business side. Together they have grown the company from a handful of engineers into a firm with its own management team and business development function. Aaron is a licensed Professional Engineer in Louisiana, Texas, and Wyoming with more than 17 years in facilities engineering.
Aaron and his family live in Lafayette, close to the family support network that led him to build a business at home. He is the son of past Deal Podcast guest Marvin Travasos.
