President

Todd P. Schoeffler is the President of Schoeffler Energy Group, Inc. (SEGI), a full-service land management firm based in Lafayette, Louisiana, serving oil and gas and midstream clients across the country. A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Todd spent more than a decade learning his craft at regional land firms before betting on himself at 34 and founding SEGI.

He launched the company from his bedroom with a $500 borrowed computer, then moved into a one-room office and began knocking on doors in Houston between days of land work. Two years later, the Haynesville Shale and the horizontal drilling boom gave SEGI the chance to prove it could run at scale, and the firm has since grown to as many as 400 people at its peak. Today SEGI handles lease acquisitions, title abstracts and curative work, seismic permitting, rights-of-way and easements, acquisition and divestiture due diligence, and GIS mapping.

Todd runs the business alongside his wife, who serves as CFO, while he focuses on business development and the hardest negotiations on every project. A Lafayette native and lifelong outdoorsman, he spends as much time as he can chasing speckled trout from his camp on the Louisiana coast.
