Executive Director, Catholic Legacy Foundation of Acadiana
Margaret H. Trahan is the Executive Director of the Catholic Legacy Foundation of Acadiana (CLFA), the Lafayette-based foundation dedicated to connecting generosity with purpose — ensuring every contribution is ethically stewarded, strategically invested, and aligned with Catholic social teaching.
Margaret joined the Diocese of Lafayette in 2019 as Stewardship and Development Director after more than 20 years as President and CEO of United Way of Acadiana. During her tenure there, she orchestrated the merger with the Volunteer Center of Lafayette, established the Community Foundation of Acadiana, co-founded Acadiana Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (A-VOAD), led United Way's transition to a community impact model, and expanded the Leader in Me program to 66 schools.
"My entire career has been focused on serving others," Margaret has said. "With this opportunity, I can advance the common good and serve my Church simultaneously."
